Newest irrigation scheme launched in time for summer

The programme is targeting 25,000 square metres, around 40 percent of the city’s urban area, with the remaining 80 percent to be diverted to agricultural areas.
An official from the water department said this was the first time the city had started using reclaimed water since February 2017 following the massive drought in the district, and that this would serve as보성안마 a model for other water-starved urban centres to follow.
An official from the provincial Water Resources and Development Department said that over 50 percent of the city’s irrigated areas have already begun to receive water from the new scheme.
A project official said that the first phase of the project would be to provide 5 million cubic meters of reclaimed water a day over the next five years. He added that he hoped this would allow water-starved cities in different parts of the country to start using reclaimed water for domestic, industrial and agricultural needs.
The official did not discuss specific prices for the water.
