Indonesia is offering US President Bill Clinton assistance with its tsunami disaster preparedness

The State Department wants Indonesia to commit to 1.5m houses and 1.2 million buildings to be built, worth about $4bn if given the US approval, under proposals to rebuild the island’s damaged roads, bridges and other buildings following the devastating 2010 tsunami.

The United States is also considering giving the government more money to buy homes, but Indonesia is unlikely to agree to that, State Department officials say.

US officials say the US government is considering giving Indonesia about $1.2bn to rebuild homes and other infrastructure damaged by the영양출장샵 tsunami and also wants some aid to be given to affected communities, including money to buy homes.

The State Department is urging Washington to give the government at least $500m in US aid to help it rebuild, but says the government “isn’t taking it”.

It would not say whether such aid could come from the $1tn (£860bn) Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank but said a “thorough review” of the bank’s work would take place in coming weeks.

“The USA offers to give Indonesia in general a good deal of funding if they work on tsunami relief and other humanitarian issues and, if so, they commit to allocating $500m over three years to help them out,” said spokesman Richard Boucher.

“This is to ensure that they are getting a fair deal. The USA will 블랙 잭not be the only donor for assistance. Other countries, particularly Japan, Germany and other Asian economies will give what they think is needed.”

But Indonesia has repeatedly rejected such help, insisting on having its own disaster preparation to deal with an immediate disaster as long as they did not commit to sending the money.

The government has recently requested US aid for tsunami reconstruction in two areas.

It has sought about $20m in help to construct a 4km-long (2.8 mile) beachfront in the south of the island, which could be used to help with rehabilitation, construction or repairs.
